GEZE EMD-F Error Codes & Troubleshooting Guide

Overview

This guide provides a detailed list of error codes, causes, and solutions for the GEZE EMD-F automatic door system. The errors are indicated on the display switch or the internal service display.

Note: DCU1, DCU1-2, DCU1-2M connection diagrams and specific controller behaviors are referenced below.

Error Codes List

Error Code Description / Cause
01 Control is defective.
02 / 22 Mains power supply failure.
03 / 27 Smoke detector active.
04 Rotary transducer signal is faulty.
05 Motor current too large.
06 Motor defective.
09 Closing safety sensor test faulty or activation longer than minimum.
0A Inconsistent condition at input SIS or SIS cable break.
0B No communication between control and program switch.
0C Door opener does not unblock (Lock stuck).
0D Door opener does not trigger (Unlock trigger failed).
0F Closing safety sensor test faulty or activation longer than minimum.
13 / 14 Lever arm or rod not fixed.
15 Obstruction of the door leaf during the learning procedure.
19 Motor relay defective.
1A SIS Testing of SIS presence sensor is faulty or activation longer than min.
1B Drive is hot: Motor or control temperature higher than 85°C.
1C Motor temperature sensor is defective.
1D Control temperature sensor is defective.
1E Drive overheated: Motor or control temperature higher than 100°C.
21 Control is defective (Internal error).
29 Incorrect software (Moving leaf and Fixed leaf have different software versions).
2A Communication Error: No communication between moving leaf and fixed leaf controllers.
2B Door opener does not block (Lock failed to engage).
2C Door opener does not trigger (Unlock failed).

Status Indicators & Maintenance

Display information:

  • Dot in left-hand display: Position Leaf position unknown.
  • Dot in right-hand display: Maintenance requirement (Number of cycles, operating hours).

Learn Error

If an error occurs while control learning:

  • 2A: No communication between control and program switch.
  • 0B: Operation is blocked at program switch.
  • 10: Operation released at program switch.
  • 11: Switch mode via program switch (Not possible).

Reset Procedure

When the teach process is started:

  1. Reset button not pressed or missing.
  2. Check connections.

Winter Mode

Winter Use: Flashes continuously (1s on, 1s off).

Maintenance: Flashes continuously (0.5s on, 0.5s off).

Error Mode: Error code is displayed for 2s, then the error message for 1s.
