GEZE EMD F / EMD F-IS / EMD Invers Connection Diagram & Safety Sensors

This document allows for the correct installation and configuration of safety sensors for GEZE EMD F, EMD F-IS, and EMD Invers door systems. Please ensure all safety instructions are followed during installation.

Safety Sensor GC 338

The GC 338 safety sensor is used for monitoring the door leaf movement to ensure safe operation.

Installation

  • Monitoring Closing: Install the sensor for monitoring closing on the door leaf, on the opposite side to the hinge.
    • As the SIS (Side Impact Sensor - Closing) is activated during closing, the door reverses and opens again.
  • Monitoring Opening: Install the sensor for monitoring opening on the door leaf, on the hinge side.
    • The door stops on activation of the SIO (Side Impact Sensor - Opening) during opening.
  • Install a maximum of 4 modules in one sensor strip.

Configuration & Connections

  • On detection, the sensor output is open (GND applied to SIS or SIO input).
  • Configuration:
    • Background fade out: 6A1B
    • Dark operated: 1
  • Drive Parameter Setting: Set parameter A2 to 01.

Note: Check function and correct setting of the sensors when putting into service and when servicing the assembly.

Safety Sensor GC 339

The GC 339 system consists of a master module and optional slave modules.

Components

  • GC 339 Master Module
  • GC 339 Extension Kit (Slave module with accessories)

Installation

  • Always install the master module near to the hinge. The connection with the drive control is made at the master module.
  • Connect a maximum of 6 slave modules to one master module.
  • Disconnect the configuration bridge at the last slave module or at the master module (if no slave modules are connected).
  • Use a test element to adjust the detection field.

Configuration

  • Drive Parameter Setting: Set parameter A2 to 01.

Accessories & Other Modules

  • GC 363: Remote control module. Often used for configuration adjustments.
  • GC 334: Refer to specific module instructions.
