Safety Instructions

WARNING!

Risk of fatal injury due to electric shock!

  • Do not loosen screw-fitted, electrical ground connections.
  • Secure workplace against unauthorised entry.
  • Always work with a second person.
  • Use a stepladder or stepstool.
  • Keep inside area of track clean.

5.1 Preparations to be made on site

Check the preparations made on site by the customer to ensure proper installation:

  • Type and load capacity of the façade construction or suspending frame
  • Evenness of the installation surface
  • Evenness of the finished floor level
  • Cable plan requirements

5.2 Preparing the track

Pre-mounted systems are delivered with attached module carrier.

  • Remove the module mounts to make it easier to fix the track to the wall.

5.3 Mount intermediate plates (optional)

  • Clip the intermediate plates (1) onto the rear of the track.
    • Upper row of drill holes for wall installation
    • Lower row of drill holes for the clip of the intermediate plate

Mounting can also be carried out conversely depending on the building structure (post design). Use the upper row of drill holes for fixing if possible.

5.4 Mounting the track

Protect the running surface from damage. There are oblong holes (2) provided for more straightforward alignment of the track. The track is fixed in place using the fixing holes (1) on the track. The oblong holes (2) do not have a load-bearing function.

Note: The illustrations in the manual are only an example, and show a single-leaf ISO door fitting as lintel installation.

  1. Determine the installation height of the track (3). Take unevenness of wall and floor into account.
  2. Position the track and mark 2 drill holes for the oblong holes (2) accordingly.
  3. Remove the track.
  4. Drill the holes for the oblong holes (2).
  5. Fix the track at the oblong holes (2) using 2 screws.
  6. Align the track horizontally.
  7. Mark the fastening drill holes (1) (upper row of drill holes on the track).
  8. Remove the track.
  9. Drill the holes (1) for fixing.
  10. Screw the track (3) in place.
  11. Install the sealing strips (5).
  12. Install the brush profile with brush (4).

With 1-leaf Appendixes:

  • Install the wall strip (6).

5.5 Checking/preparing cable routing

The line feed is on the left-hand side of the drive. If the cables have been routed incorrectly on site and emerge in the centre or on the right-hand side, they can be routed via the cable guides along the back of the track to the left.

Important: When the 230 V cable is routed through the drive it must be doubly insulated.

  • Insert cable (1) into the track.
  • Clip cable guides (3) into the track.
  • Fasten the cable to the cable guides using cable ties (2).

The number of cable guides required depends on the opening width (ÖW):

  • ÖW < 1250 mm = 6 cable guides (1 set)
  • ÖW < 2350 mm = 12 cable guides (2 sets)
  • ÖW < 3000 mm = 18 cable guides (3 sets)

5.6 Mounting the floor guide

The floor guide is selected based on on-site conditions. One of the following floor guide options must be used. For further information see the respective installation drawing (Chapter 4.1).

5.6.1 Fitting the angled floor guide for floor installation (optional)

Angled floor guide with moving leaf - Left hand slide to open

  • Screw the angled floor guide (6) with 2 suitable countersunk head screws (1) and (2).

Angled floor guide with moving leaf - Right hand slide to open

  • Screw the angled floor guide (6) with 2 suitable countersunk head screws (3) and (2).

5.6.2 Adjustable angled floor guide wall mounting (optional)

  • Screw the mounting bracket (2) onto the side panel (1) with two screws (5) (torque 5 Nm).
  • Align the moving leaf (6) and thereby the adjusting angle (4) and tighten the screw (3) (torque 3 Nm).
  • If no side panel is present, mount the floor guide on the wall using suitable accessories.

5.6.3 Continuous floor guide (optional)

For assembly of the continuous floor guide, see the “Continuous floor guide” assembly drawing.

5.7 Mounting the moving leaf

WARNING!

Danger of injury caused by door leaves falling over!

The door leaves are very heavy. At least 2 people should work together to set up the door leaves.

WARNING!

Danger of injury caused by crushing!

The door leaves are still unsecured and move easily. Make sure that the door leaves are not moved accidentally or by unauthorised persons.

  • Clean track.

The roller carriage is selected based on the system parameters. One of the following roller carriage options must be used.

5.7.1 Mount the single roller carriage on the door leaf (optional)

In a system with double roller carriages, continue with chapter 5.7.2.

  • Screw the roller carriage (1) onto the door leaf.
  • Position the single roller carriage in the suspension profile and fix in place.

See the leaf installation drawing for the position of the support bracket.

Aligning the door leaves (Single Carriage):

  1. Suspend the roller carriages in the track.
  2. Adjust the height of the door leaf with the screw (1).
  3. Tighten screws (2) after adjusting the door leaf (torque 30 Nm).
  4. Mount the fastening bolt (3) and adjust height (torque 11 Nm).

Check: Gap between bolt and track ≈ 0.5 mm (corresponds to about 4 sheets of copy paper).

5.7.2 Mounting the double roller carriage on the door leaf (optional)

Mount the support bracket for the double roller carriage on the leaf

  1. Unscrew the screw (1) off the bracket (2). The clearance a between the screw head (1) and the screw holder (3) must be set again later.
  2. Unscrew the 2 screws (4) off and remove the support bracket from the double roller carriage.
  3. Screw the support bracket (5) on the left and right of the door leaf (6).

See the leaf installation drawing for the position of the support bracket.

Fixing the double roller carriage to the track:

  1. Re-install the screw (1) with holder (2) without the screw holder (3).
  2. Place the roller mount (8) on the track (9).
  3. Loosen the screw (7) for the counter-roller.
  4. Push the screw (7) upwards until the roller (10) is in contact with the track at the top.
  5. Tighten the screw (7) (torque 30 Nm).

Setting up door leaves:

WARNING!

The door leaves are very heavy. At least 2 people should work together to set up the door leaves.

  • Set up the door leaf with support bracket on double roller carriage.

Tightening the door leaves:

  1. Screw both support brackets (5) of the door leaves to the roller carrier (8) using Verbus-Ripp M8×10 safety screws (4).
  2. Tighten the safety screws (4) by hand.
  3. Screw the screw (1) out of the holder (2). Make sure that the holder (2) does not fall to the ground.
  4. Screw the screw (1) with screw holder (3) as far into the holder (2) as necessary until the screw (1) is in contact with the support bracket (5).
  5. A clearance of 6.5 mm must be kept between the holder (2) and the screw holder (3).

Aligning the door leaves:

  1. Align door leaves flush with each other. Ensure the same level and parallel closing edges when doing so.
  2. Loosen the 2 screws (4) and the 2 screws (11).
  3. Set the height and parallel position of the door leaves at the hexagon of the suspension bolt (1).
  4. Tighten the Verbus-Rib M8×10 safety screws (4) (torque 30 Nm).
  5. Tighten the safety screws (11) (torque 15 Nm).
