6. Fault Messages

6.1 Keypad Programme Switch TPS / Display Programme Switch DPS

The following table lists fault indications represented by LED patterns on the display switches.

6.2 Mechanical Programme Switch MPS/MPS-ST

If a fault occurs in the system, this is indicated by the LED lighting up permanently. Notify a service technician if this occurs.

7. What to do if...? (Troubleshooting)

  • Disconnect power supply (e.g. fuse provided by customer).
  • Clean floor guide area.
Door only opens and closes slowly Obstruction in travel path
  • Remove obstruction and check door leaf for ease of movement.
Door only opens and closes slowly Closing safety sensor (SIS) interrupted or misaligned
  • Clean closing safety sensor (SIS) (photoelectric barrier).
  • Check settings of light curtain.
Door opens and closes constantly Obstruction in sliding path, e.g. stone in floor guide area
  • Disconnect power supply (e.g. fuse provided by customer).
  • Clear obstruction and clean floor guide area.
Door opens and closes constantly Light beams or reflections (e.g. wet floor, plants) in detector area
  • Check detection area of movement detectors.
Door only opens a crack Obstruction in travel path
  • Remove obstruction and check door leaf for ease of movement.
Door does not open Obstruction in travel path
  • Remove obstruction and check door leaf for ease of movement.
Door does not open Movement detector defective or misaligned
  • Check movement detector.
Door does not open Mode is set to "Night/Locked" or "Off"
  • Select a different mode of operation.
Door does not open Floor locks are locked
  • Unlock floor locks.
Door does not unlock or lock Locking defective
  • Check lock in the "Night/Locked" mode.
  • Unlock/lock manually if possible. Notify service technician if defective.
Programme switch cannot be operated Switch is blocked or requires password
  • Activate key switch.
  • Enter password.
  • Request servicing if defective.

Resetting Fault Memory

With keypad programme switch:

  • Use key 1 or 2 to change to the mode of operation “Off”.
  • Press keys 1 and 2 simultaneously for 1s.

DPS with OFF key:

  • Set mode of operation “Off”.
  • Activate keys + & simultaneously for 1s.

After finding the fault, select the desired mode of operation again.

8. Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING! Risk of Electric Shock

  • Risk of electric shock due to improper cleaning!
  • Doors should only be cleaned by trained personnel.
  • Set the mode of operation to “Off”.
  • Secure door leaves against accidental movement before cleaning.

8.1 Cleaning Guide

Component Cleaning Method
Safety sensor Wipe with moist cloth.
Glass surfaces Wipe with a suitable glass cleaner and dry.
Stainless surfaces Wipe with non-scratching cloth.
Coated surfaces Wipe with water and soap.
Anodised surfaces Wipe with non-alkaline potassium soap (pH 5.5...7).
Programme switch Wipe with damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents.

8.2 Maintenance Intervals

The owner must ensure the system is working perfectly. Maintenance is indicated on the programme switches:

  • Display Programme Switch: A red dot (17) appears at the bottom right.
  • TPS: "Reduced opening width" LED (18) flashes.
  • MPS/MPS-ST: LED (19) flashes.

8.3 Rechargeable Battery Disposal

Important: Rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. Please dispose of batteries at a municipal collection point or in-store. GEZE automatic sliding door systems contain NiCd rechargeable batteries which must be replaced after 2 years at the latest.

9. Safety-related Inspection

In compliance with DIN 18650-2 and EN 16005, the safe condition of power operated doors must be checked before initial commissioning and once a year by a professional authorised by GEZE.
