DORMA ES 200 Easy / ES 200-2D Automatic Door Installation Manual & Guide

1. Safety & Electrical Requirements

Important: Work on electrical equipment may only be performed by properly qualified electricians.
  • Power Supply: On site with 16 A fuse protection.
  • Cabling: Connecting cable must be double insulated (e.g., NYM). Do not use flat webbed house wires.
  • Accessories: The instructions accompanying the accessories must be strictly observed.

2. Fixing & Installation Preparations

Before beginning the installation, verify your fixing method and dimensions.

Installation Types

  • Wall Fixing: Direct wall installation.
  • Corridor Installation: Using aluminium girder.

Track Rail Preparation

  1. Fix the track rail.
  2. Assemble the roller carriers and fix them in place.
  3. Prepare mounting and aluminium girder for the light barrier cable.

3. Drive Unit & Belt Assembly

Mini Drive Unit & Pulley

  1. Installation of Mini Drive Unit and pulley (locking device).
  2. Fix and adjust the Mini Drive unit.
  3. Screw down the pulley (locking device).

Toothed Belt Installation

  1. Install toothed belt, cover holder, and accessories.
  2. Trimming: Trim and secure the toothed belt manually.
  3. Tensioning: Tighten screw of clamping device until bolt head and end of cover are aligned.
  4. Screw down pulley (locking device) tightly.

Belt Adjustment

If the toothed belt rubs excessively against the bottom pulley flange causing noise, it requires readjustment:

  1. Loosen the right fixing screw of the pulley (locking device).
  2. Wind in the adjustment screw until the belt runs centrally again.
  3. Tighten the right fixing screw of the pulley.

4. Adjustments & Fine-Tuning

Locking Device (Optional)

Perform adjustment of the locking device if equipped.

Closing Sliding Panels

  1. Unscrew cage.
  2. Insert lock bolt.
  3. Adjust cage and secure it.

Covers & Hinge Profiles

  • Internal Cover: Insert hinge profiles into internal cover. Break edges of internal cover according to stipulated dimensions to ensure proper fixing of end plates.
  • Earth Grounding: Use earthing cable to ground the inner cover.
  • Fixing: Insert hinge profile into inner cover and install manually into mounting girder, starting in the middle. Open and fix the inner cover.
  • End Plates: Trim end plates as needed.

Connect unit to power supply (supplied by others) and perform a test run.

5. Mounting Instructions

General Mounting

Fix mounting girder with at least 6 screws. Screws must be positioned equally along the length of the girder.

Wall Fixing

Requirements vary by surface material:

  • Masonry: Heavy-duty plugs must be used (supplied by others).
    • Mark and drill holes.
    • Insert plugs.
    • Shim mounting plate as appropriate and fix with countersunk screws.
  • Steel:
    • Mark, drill, and tap the holes.
    • Shim mounting plate as appropriate and fix with countersunk screws.

Corridor Fixing

  • Masonry: Mark and drill holes, insert heavy-duty plugs.
  • Steel: Mark holes, drill to 5mm diameter, and tap M6 threads.
  • Assembly: Insert square nuts into profile slots. Mount aluminium girder with ES profile bolted in place. Align and screw down tight.

Side Screens & Light Barriers

  • Wall Brackets: Fix U-section profiles according to sketch dimensions. Mark, drill, insert plugs, align brackets, and screw down tight. Insert side screens and fix.
  • Floor Guide: Screw down floor guide rail to building or side screen.
  • Light Barriers: Mount the cable into the installation. Use shrinkdown plastic tubing in the mounting girder area for protection. Insert light barriers into profile slots and screw down profiles.

6. Sliding Panels & Door Alignment

Panel Assembly

Assemble the sliding panels and prepare for adjustment.

Clearance & Parallelism

  • Floor Clearance: Set floor or floor guide clearance at the sliding panel to 6 mm.
    • Relax brackets of main and secondary closing edge.
    • Adjust height with hexagon nut.
    • Screw down tight.
  • Parallelism: Open door to check centre seals are parallel with side screens. Close door and open slightly to check gap consistency over entire height.

Derailment Guard

Release derailment guard of roller carriers and adjust:

  1. Undo bolts in diagonal oblong holes of carriers.
  2. Adjust derailment guard to a clearance of 0.5 mm with respect to track rail and mounting girder.
  3. Check for smooth running and re-tighten bolts.

End Stops & Opening Width

  1. Insert end stops.
  2. Move both sliding panels manually to full opening width and secure.
  3. Move end buffers to meet sliding panels and screw down tight.

Centre Alignment (AM vs SK)

Viewed from inside, determine the centre point of the door set (AM).

  1. Relax connection between carrier and toothed belt on the left sliding panel.
  2. Move both sliding panels manually until the closing edge (SK) coincides with the door set centre (AM).
  3. Re-tighten connection.
  4. Correction: For major discrepancies, move the toothed belt one or more tooth pitches along.

7. Final Check Up

  • Derailment guard / counter roller adjusted correctly (0.5 mm)?
  • Door panels run smoothly with no grinding noise?
  • Electromechanical locking adjusted correctly (> 1mm)?
  • All shortened wires provided with end splices?
  • All connectors plugged in?
  • All cables fixed? No obstacles within the driving phase?
  • (Only for ES 200 with "Emergency opening function") Serial connection with "internal sensor" performed?
