Product Overview

With their ED 100 and ED 250, dormakaba offers electromechanical swing door operators designed for versatility. The system allows you to select the version that best matches your prevailing door-leaf width and weight.

  • ED 100: Suitable for doors up to 1100 mm wide or 160 kg in weight.
  • ED 250: Designed for doors up to 1600 mm wide or 400 kg in weight.

The operators feature a modular design and force balancing technology, ensuring better distribution of internal forces and self-aligning gear components.

Benefits

  • Flexible configuration: Customers only pay for the functions they actually require.
  • Low-noise application: Achieved through a multi-stage gear system.
  • Elegant visual appearance: dormakaba design provides an operator height of only 70 mm.
  • Durability: Better gear durability due to force balancing technology.
  • Integrated smoke detector: Available as a standard option.
  • New EVAC function: The operator does not switch off completely in an alarm event; it can be passed barrier-free via Power-Assist or Night/Bank modes.
  • New SPV function: Additional parameter level to optimally adapt drive parameters to pressure conditions during an alarm.

Fields of Application

  • Single- or double-leaf swing doors.
  • Interior and exterior doors.
  • Fire and smoke doors (both slide channel and standard arm versions).
  • Rarely and heavily frequented doors (thanks to low- and full-energy versions).
  • Full-automatic swing doors with radar motion control (high torque).
  • Heavy doors & staircases: Especially with smoke extraction and pressure ventilation systems (EVAC / SPV function).

Selection Guide

Choose between the ED 100 and the ED 250 based on your door dimensions. Note: Additional door components such as hinges, seals, or locks may restrict the functional area.

The diagram (not shown) allows determination of max values. All values apply to an ideal door. Achievable speed should be lowered for heavy doors to ensure safety.

Limitation: Specifications valid up to a lintel depth of 300 mm. At depth > 301 mm, ED 250 door panel weight is reduced to 160 kg irrespective of width.
