This document covers the installation of pull arm assemblies for ED narrow header operators (ED50/ED100/ED250), including hardware identification and mounting steps.
10.3 Deep Pull Arm Hardware Identification
Refer to Fig. 10.3.1 for the Deep Pull Arm Assembly components.

10.4 Slide Shoe Assembly
10.4.1 Install pivot pin into slide shoe
- Insert pivot pin (10) into slide shoe (9).
- Install spring clip (retaining ring 11) into pivot pin slot.
10.5 Install Hardware into Track
Caution: Assemble track hardware based on RH (Right Hand) or LH (Left Hand) installation.
10.5.1 Track Assembly Steps
-
Remove both end caps (2) and one fixing piece (3) from the track.
- Slide bumper stop (16), bumper (12), and slide shoe assembly (9) into the track.
- Note: Do not tighten bumper stop M5 screw (17) at this stage.
-
Secure fixing piece to the end of the track with M5 x 15 screw (3.1).
- Use a No. 2 Phillips screwdriver. Do not over-tighten.
10.7 Deep Pull Arm Assembly
Caution: Assemble arm and CPD lever based on RH or LH pull or push configuration.
10.7.1 Detailed Assembly
- Press CPD lever slotted spring pins (7) into corresponding holes in the arm.
- Secure CPD lever (6) to arm with M6 x 10 SHCS (6.1).
10.8 Deep Pull Arm Installation
Tips and Recommendations: ED100/ED250 operator shown in illustrations. Reference Chapter 7 for Installation Templates.
Warning: Use caution when working in proximity of the door and pull arm!
10.8.1 Mount Deep Pull Arm to Operator
Caution - Closed Position: In order to mount the drive arm in the correct position, the spindle must be at the closed position.
- Set ED50/ED100/ED250 operator spring tension based on door width (Reference Chapter 12).
- Position drive arm with axle extension parallel to door (See Fig. 10.8.1).
- Rotate the drive arm with axle extension so that the edge of the CPD lever is adjacent to the door surface (See Fig. 10.8.2).
-
Install drive arm with axle extension onto spindle, aligning axle extension to the nearest spindle tooth.
*Note: Depending on door reveal, this arm position may be more than one spindle tooth from the "arm parallel to door" position. - Thread the M8 SHCS (length determined by axle extension) into the spindle and tighten.
Torque Requirement: Use a torque wrench with hex key socket to tighten M8 screw to 26 ft-lb [35.3 Nm].
10.8.2 - 10.8.7 Track Mounting & Final Assembly
- Drill Holes: Using the applicable template (Ref Chapter 7), locate and drill track mounting holes.
- Install Slide Shoe: Thread pivot pin M8 SHCS into CPD lever mounting hole. Tighten with 6mm hex key.
- Track Assembly: Ensure track components are assembled for the correct hand of door.
-
Mount Track:
- Remove fixing piece from track on the opposite end from the bumper.
- Slide track assembly onto the shoe, lining up the fixing piece with the mounting hole in the door.
- Install second fixing piece and secure.
- Secure to Door: Attach track fixing pieces to door using selected fasteners. Ensure track is level.
- Final Caps: Install two track end caps and the spindle cap.
10.9 Standard Pull Arm Installation
Follow similar procedures as the Deep Pull Arm for mounting the standard drive arm.
- Ensure spindle is at closed position.
- Position drive arm parallel to door.
- Rotate one spindle tooth in door closed direction.
- Tighten M8 screw to 26 ft-lb [35.3 Nm].
- Install slide shoe using M8 SHCS into standard arm mounting hole with 6mm hex key.
