ASSA ABLOY SL300 Troubleshooting & Error Codes Guide

ASSA ABLOY SL300 Troubleshooting Guide - Error Codes & Solutions

General Troubleshooting Steps

Before starting: Check that the operation mode is correctly selected. Follow the recommended order for checking mechanical and electrical parts.

Note: The electromechanical parts are fixed in the support beam. To replace these components, the complete unit has to be loosened and replaced.

  1. Check Main Control Unit Display

The main control unit is equipped with a two-digit display for error indication.

    • Normal Operation: The display shows on.
    • Blank Display: If all segments are off, check the mains power, power supply cable, or perform a RESET. If the problem remains, replace the main control unit or the power supply.
    • Active Error: The display alternates between an error type (e.g., E4) and a specific detail code (e.g., 03). If multiple errors are active, they display in sequence.
    • LED Indicator: A green LED on the electronic unit indicates status. If off or flashing, the unit may be failing.

    Control Interface Key:

    on
    Operation OK
    Up
To step up in parameter or value menu
    Select
Enters into parameter or value menu and programs a value into memory
    Down
To step down in parameter or value menu
    Learn/Exit
Learn has 3 functions (1: Quick learn, 2: Normal learn, 3: Default setting). Exit jumps out from value/parameter menu without saving.
  2. Mechanical Movement Check

Disconnect the mains power and batteries (if fitted). Unlock all mechanical locks.

Pull the door leaf manually and check that the door can be easily moved over the complete sliding track/floor guide.

    • Stops/Hard to move: Check for sand, stones, or rubbish in the floor guide.
    • Jamming: Check if door leaves jam on the floor or weatherproofing brush strips.

Action: Clean the floor guide, adjust door leaf height/depth, or replace worn parts until the door leaf runs smoothly.

  3. Belt Tension Check

If the belt is making noise against the beam or cover, check reliability of belt tension.

Procedure: On the Tension wheel assembly, measure the distance between the adjustment screw and the nut.

    • Required Distance: 47 mm
    • Slack Check: Remove slack reducers, release the fixing nut in the center of the tension wheel. Check that the distance is 1-2 mm between the nut and the adjacent plate.

Error Codes & Remedies

Follow the tables below to diagnose specific error codes displayed on the main control unit.
