ASSA ABLOY SL300 Electrical Connections & Wiring Guide

12 Electrical Connections

Note! During any work with the electrical connections the mains power and the electrical battery must be disconnected.

  • Place the electric switch easily accessible from the operator.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

12.1 Mains connection

Warning: Installer must properly ground door package! Improper grounding can lead to risk of personal injury.

Installation Steps

  1. Loosen the screws (1) to remove the plastic cover (3).
  2. Connect the mains power cable (4) and PS cable POWER SUPPLY-CU (5).
  3. Fix the plastic cover (3) with screws (1).
  4. Fasten the mains power cable with screws (2).

12.2 Electrical units

12.2.1 Power supply unit (PSU 75W)

12.2.2 Drive unit

GR 63x25 (ND 40V, gear ratio 10:1, Pitch 5mm)

12.2.3 Main control unit (MCU)

The MCU has a label - main control type label including Hardware information and Software information.

  • The hardware information states revision of the MCU and applies to PCB or hardware changes.
  • The software information states the software version.

12.2.4 Connection of electrical units

This section details the connections between the PSU, Drive unit, MCU, and Battery.

Mains / PSU Connection

Mains power 100-240 VAC, 50/60Hz, fuse 10AT
Wire Colors Red, Black, Earth, Neutral, Live

Control Inputs (MCU Terminal Block)

Signal / Function Voltage / Type
Lock (+) Lock, (-) 0VDC
Inner impulse (+) 24VDC, (-) 0VDC
Key impulse* *Can generate battery wakeup
Presence monitoring Presence impulse 1, Presence impulse 2
Outer impulse (+) 24VDC, (-) 0VDC
Side presence monitoring Side presence impulse 1, Side presence impulse 2
Stop impulse (+) 0VDC

12.3 Connection of the sensors and the other accessories

Refer to the sensor manual for installation and adjustments. The protective device must comply with EN 12978.

Note! Make sure that the cable from the sensor installed on the cover does not interfere with the lock unit. If it does, drill a new hole for the sensor cable.

12.3.1 MA111-1, KS-S, KS-F, magnet switch

Sensor Function Connection MCU Terminal
Inner impulse (-) 0VDC Inner impulse
Outer impulse (-) 0VDC Outer impulse
Stop impulse (NO) (-) 0VDC Stop impulse
Stop impulse (NC) Stop impulse monitoring Stop impulse (monitored)
Key Impulse (-) 0VDC Key Impulse

Configuration: Stop impulse NC requires MCU setting 46=01. Monitoring requires 66=01.

12.3.2 SA52

Wire Color Function MCU Connection
Green (+) 24VDC Power
Yellow (-) 0VDC Ground
Brown Signal Inner impulse (Inner sensor)
White Signal Outer impulse (Outer sensor)

12.3.3 SBK-111 NPN/N (Normally Closed)

Component Wire Color Connection
Receiver/Transmitter Brown (+) 24VDC
White/Green (-) 0VDC
White Presence impulse 1 or 2*
*If only one presence sensor is used, connect to MCU-TB:9. Use presence impulse 2 only when presence impulse 1 is already used.
Stop Impulse White Stop impulse / Stop monitoring

Configuration: Logic setting likely requires MCU adjustments (e.g., 7=01, 8=01, 45=01, 46=01, 66=01).

12.3.4 SBK-111 NPN/R (Normally Open)

Wiring similar to NPN/N but uses Normally Open logic for Inner/Outer impulses and Presence monitoring.

Note: Use Presence impulse 2 only when Presence impulse 1 is used.

12.3.5 SC31-M, SC32-M

DIP Switch Settings:

  • SC32-M: 1, 3, 5, 12 (11=NO)
  • SC31-M: 1, 3, 5, 8, 9 (7=NO), (15=Lookback)
