These instructions detail the mounting and commissioning process for ED 100 and ED 250 double leaf door systems with VARIO cover. Correct installation ensures safe and reliable operation.
1. Preparation
The following steps must be performed in addition to the standard mounting instructions:
- Remove the PCB with the internal program switches from both operators:
- First remove the connection cable.
- Move the PCB upwards and pull it out.
- Remove the mains switch from the operator that is not installed on the side where the power supply is connected.
- Push the 3 brackets inwards to remove the connection unit.
- Open the two covers above the mains supply PCB and remove the connectors.
- Pull out the mains supply PCB.
- Close both covers and reconnect the connection unit.
2. Determining Required Lengths
Calculate the required length for the intermediate base plate and intermediate cover based on the usage (With or Without Smoke Detector) and power size (EN).
Hinge Clearance Table
| Power Size | Without Smoke Detector (Min) | With Smoke Detector (Min) |
|---|---|---|
| EN 4–6 | 1442 mm | 1610 mm |
| EN 7 | 1642 mm | 1810 mm |
Calculation Formulas
Measure the actual hinge clearance first.
Intermediate Base Plate Length (L)
- EN 4–6: L = hinge clearance - 1397 mm
- EN 7: L = hinge clearance - 1597 mm
Intermediate Cover Length (L)
- EN 4–6: L = hinge clearance - 1442 mm
- EN 7: L = hinge clearance - 1642 mm
3. Drilling and Preparation
Drill holes into the interim plate as indicated in your technical drawing:
- The drill holes in the middle are only required if the hinge clearance exceeds 1,800 mm.
- Drill holes marked A into the inner notch.
- Drill holes marked B into the outer notch.
4. Assembly of Mounting Plates
- Assemble and align the mounting plates and the intermediate plate on a level surface.
- Fix the two connectors:
- At the mounting plates with cheese-head screws.
- At the intermediate base plate with thread-cutting screws.
5. Preparation of Brackets
- Break out the plastic parts located in the middle of both brackets by turning them upwards. Use these as air deflectors at the bottom of the bracket.
- Turn the brackets by 45°, attach them to the mounting plate, and then realign to 0°.
- Move the brackets along so that they meet the respective operator.
- Fix each bracket with two thread-cutting screws respectively.
- Slightly screw in the two thread-cutting screws for the bracket in the middle (a few turns will suffice), then move the bracket under the screw heads and screw down tight.
Ensure the bracket is installed so that the plastic guide is located at the bottom.
6. Electrical Connections
- Program Switch: Insert (clip) the new program switch into the slot where the mains switch was removed.
- Connect the program switch to the passive-leaf operator at the connection unit (use terminals for external program switch).
- If installing on the passive-leaf operator, cut the connection cable to length and fix ring connectors at the ends.
- Connect the enclosed linking cable to the two “horizontal” connectors on the control unit.
- Connect the mains cable of the second operator.
Wind up cables between operators and fix them with cable channels.
7. Commissioning
Follow these steps to commission the double-leaf system:
Active Leaf
- Put the active leaf into operation (See "Commissioning instructions" in standard manual).
- Following the learning cycle, adjust the program switch to PERMANENT OPEN.
-
Parameterisation:
- Adjust parameter
dL(Door type) to “1“. - Adjust parameter
Ad(Castor angle) to the desired value.
- Adjust parameter
Passive Leaf
- Put the passive leaf into operation.
-
Parameterisation:
- Adjust parameter
dLto “2“.
- Adjust parameter
8. Final Assembly
- Fix both operator covers and the labels.
- Fix the middle cover on the brackets.
- Attach the small covers to hide the cutting edges.
- Fix the lateral covers.
